Committee Workshop - Successful Committees – Working Smarter, Not Harder

Venue:Swimming WA
When:Thursday, 10 December 2026
Successful Committees – Working Smarter, Not Harder

Running a successful club shouldn’t mean the same few volunteers doing everything.

Join us for a practical 90-minute workshop facilitated by Ricky Smith from Elite Business Performance, focused on helping club committees work more effectively, share the workload and spend more time on the things that make a real difference to their club.

Date: Thursday, 10 December
Time: 6.00pm
Duration: 90 minutes
Location: Royal Life Saving Society Building
Delivery: Face-to-face preferred, with online access available for regional WA clubs

What will we cover?
This practical session will explore:
• Creating clear roles and responsibilities across your committee
• Sharing the workload and avoiding volunteer burnout
• Running shorter, more productive meetings
• Setting priorities and turning decisions into action
• Improving communication between committee members
• Building effective processes that make volunteering easier
• Planning for succession and bringing new people into your club
• Moving from simply managing the club to planning for its future

Whether you’re a President, Secretary, Treasurer, Committee Member or emerging club leader, this workshop will provide practical ideas you can take straight back to your club.
Metropolitan clubs are strongly encouraged to join us face-to-face, providing an opportunity to connect with other club leaders, share experiences and learn from one another.

For our regional WA clubs, an online option will be available to ensure you can be part of the conversation.

A successful committee isn’t one that works harder — it’s one that works well together.
