Rottnest Island Virtual swim Relay, Sat 20th Feb.

Swim Description:
Would you like to be part of the one of the world’s largest open water swims, but swim in your local pool?

Have you thought about swimming 19.7km from Perth to Rottnest?

As a result of the interest in the Rottnest Channel Swim, the VRCS was inaugurated to enable the wider community to participate and take part in a great event.

Swimming WA invites individuals and teams to compete in the 2021 Virtual Rottnest Channel Swim (VRCS).

The AKSC club would like to enter teams into the Novelty event and have provided an entry Expression Of Interest for swimmers to register there interest in this event.

There is no cost to swimmers for being in the team as the club will pay the registration of each team.

The Cut-off to register an interest is 26th Jan at 0900 as we need to register teams by the 28th January 2021.

The 20km Novelty Event is for the more social swimmers.

Maximum team size is 10 with the swim open to all over the age of 10 years as at the day of Saturday, 20 February 2021.

The swim will be conducted at the Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre pool and a distance of 20km will be swum.

The 2021 VRCS will commence between 6.45am and 8.00am and finish no later than 6.00pm.

The pool manager/event organiser will conduct the race briefing 15 minutes prior to the start.

All swimmers will receive a certificate of participation

Please note that all Entry times must have been achieved since Wednesday, 1 January 2020 and must have been achieved in a Long Course (50m) pool..
